Jacques Gorde's work is power in pure form. Without any concession, he paints out of necessity, through breathing as the only possible way to meet with himself and the best means to reach out to others. He gets inspiration from anything that surrounds him to create its evocations of the life.
Because all his paintings are underlain by this vital force which lives in him. A strength that he once decided to leave when the everyday life became too difficult.

Since then, bulimic of everything, he engages into every painting with all his body and soul while listening to operas or rock'n'roll music. What does it matter ? He becomes enraged, lets the color spring in massive or subtle layers from which, as if by magic, the forms appear.
His way of painting, suggestive, does not reveal itself but leads one to feel, to vibrate, to live.
That he deals with the woman, with the city or with his passion for Venice, everything is in the impression. Atmospheres are expressed in an instinctive manner, accessible to all, without return.
It is not surprise if his works generate an overall craze at each of his exhibitions.
